Love or Fear; Which One Are You Choosing?

What does it mean to say that perfect love casts out fear? First, let’s begin by stating that absolutely everything we experience in this world is a symbol for either perfect love or fear. But if only one is real, it means the other one is imaginary?

A Course In Miracles expresses this beautifully:

Perfect love casts out fear.
If fear exists, then there is not perfect love.

But:

Only perfect love exists.
If there is fear,
It produces a state that does not exist.

The only real conflict we are ever experiencing, is the decision we have to make between thoughts that come from Love and thoughts that come from fear.

When you are feeling good and at peace, you chose to Love. Choosing Love is the most powerful choice there is to make.

On the contrary, when you are feeling worried, angry and stressed out, you have chosen to fear. Choosing to fear means choosing to be weak. The only purpose of fearful thoughts is to attack. To attack others or attack ourselves.

Turn self-observation into a habit. Be alert and aware of your thoughts and feelings as often as you can. If they don’t give you peace, choose again, because it means you have listened to fear, the wrong teacher. But don’t worry, the teacher for Love and peace is always there, any time you need Him. Eager to illuminate your interpretation of reality, whenever you ask for it.

The effects of fear may seem too strong at times, but choosing trust and being at peace with the present moment (regardless of how good or bad it looks), will ALWAYS guide you in the right direction.

It takes tremendous discipline to practice this, but the rewards are profound. They are life changing.

Remember you are always choosing. It’s the fight between the good wolf and the bad wolf, it’s love vs fear, ongoing, all the time.

So… Right at this moment, which one are you choosing?
